Lady Bug Says ... Aussie Angel

I think I have had this hair cut, colour and style for almost as long as I can remember! Well this or a very close variation!
I have always been in the possession of long brown, pretty lifeless hair, and no real idea of what to do with it other than wear it straight, curled or up in a top knot. No matter how hard I try I cannot recreate that salon volumous blow dry, sweep my hair into a fab up do or style my bouffant into gorgeous beachy waves!
You may be wondering where I am going with this... well the lovely people over at Aussie are running a competition to become a much coveted Aussie Angel. I figured if there was anyone to help me out of my hair rut and teach me how to make my hair look more than 'ok' it is Aussie!
So if wanting to make the most of your hair and being willing to take any hair advice given qualifies you to be an Aussie Angel then I hope that I may be considered!

Lady Bug Says ... Red Coat

Not quite a red coat, but a red blazer. A blazer that I have kind of struggled with wearing since I bought it back in September last year! I think this is shamefully only its 3rd outing! Any ideas for what to wear it with?!

Today I paired it with a pair of black skinny jeans, that I really wish fitted a little better and my new white shirt. I gave myself a little round of applause for the fact that I managed to wear white all day without spilling anything down it!

I hope the blossom stays on the tree for a little longer, it certainly makes a pretty backdrop for photographs! I do need to get a bit better with photographs/using my camera, I can't seem to pick up all the details I want to in my photos, any camera savvy people have any tips?!

Lady Bug Says ... Harrods Summer Picks

*Guest Post*
It can be hard to know where to start when the next season of ladies fashion hits the rack. Rather than haphazardly grabbing the first items you see, choosing sensibly means you can mix, match and still be ahead of the fashion curve.

One of this season’s head turners is Chloe’s leather shorts. These beige, pure leather shorts are the perfect blend of feminine and fashion-forward, and pairing them with black sheer stockings and a white blouse makes a must-have evening look.
For a more delicate eveningwear, a pastel peach lace skirt by Carven is just the ticket, and is both glamorous and trendy with Carven’s black taffeta top. The top serves double-duty by being the perfect accomplice to just about any skirt or skinny jeans.
Marc by Marc Jacobs’ Hot Dot Print Shorts, which are white polka dots on navy silk, with soft pleats and a high waist, are also very versatile. These shorts let everyone know warm weather is on the way, and look killer paired with the Carven Milano coral jacket. The Milano jacket is inspired by classic Parisian tailoring, but modernized with a silver-toned zipper on one side, and a scooped neckline.
The Max & Co. Leather Biker Jacket in black also features an asymmetrical zipper, but has a collar and a more traditional leather jacket look. Add either of these jackets to your wardrobe and not only have you got two extremely versatile pieces, but you’ve struck the right balance between feminine and edgy.

Lady Bug Says ... Next Store Opening

Evening lovelies!

Hope you are all enjoying the long weekend :)

Today I wanted to tell you all about the sneak peek I got at a new Next store this week. I was kindly invited by their PR department to have a little look around the store before it opened for business. I have never been to anything like this before but found it really interesting, who doesn't love a sneaky look! It was lovely to see the store all neat and tidy before the public got their hands on it, the store is beautifully designed and completely glass fronted, meaning even on the gloomiest of days it seemed bright and airy inside.

The layout of the store was logical and they displayed their stand out prints and pieces beautifully. I also feel I need their shoe room in my house!

I want all of the items in the top left photograph, coral is quickly becoming my favourite colour of the moment. I was beyond impressed with their home section, a great mix of classic pieces, my much beloved vintage inspired and brilliant summer brights! I purchased the white zip detail top photographed bottom left, I can see it being a great office, to weekend, to night out piece. I also had to get a snap of one of the lovely staffs outfits, those print trousers look fab on her!

This is the outfit I wore for the opening, sorry of the poor quality photo, I was trying to get a quick snap when the staff weren't looking!
Flatforms, H&M £20, Tights, Primark £1, Dress, QED Clothing via TK Maxx £17, Pink Belt, Primark £1, Blazer, H&M Kids £8, Bag, H&M £10
Outfit total - £57

On the day I was kindly gifted their Olympic & Paralympic scarves which I will be incorporating into an outfit post very soon.

Big thank you to Next for a great morning and to Matt from their PR Department for inviting me and showing me around their new store!

Lady Bug Says ... Aztec Love

Evening lovelies!

Isn't the nice warm weather a distant memory now?! Fingers crossed it comes back soon, I was not made for colder climates!

Here is an outfit from last week when it was warm enough to go bare legged! I found this skirt whilst on my seemingly daily Ebay trawl a little while ago and ended up winning it for £6 including the postage :) Happy days seeing as I am sure I saw it retailing for around double that a few months ago!

Suede boots, Primark £12, Aztec skirt, H&M via Ebay £6, Black vest top, H&M £5, Leopard necklace, Me & Zena £12

Outfit total - £35

I have decided that for the month of April I really need to ban myself from any unnecessary purchases, 4 days in I am doing well. Hopefully by the end of the month my bank balance will be looking a bit healthier!

Lady Bug Says ... Bristol Fashion Week

Evening lovelies!

Sorry it has been so long since my last post and that it has taken forever to get this post up! My laptop has decided that at the moment it doesn't really like doing anything to do with the internet, which is a bit of an issue when it comes to wanting to blog!

Anyway, I am persevering! It may of taken 2 hours to edit these photos, apologies for the quality, I still have not mastered the art of photographing moving subjects!

So... last Friday I was lucky enough to attend the bloggers event at Bristol Fashion Week, I have never been to a bloggers event before, so despite being terrified about not knowing anyone I decided to be brave and get over my shyness!

I got talking to the lovely Milly on Twitter and we decided to travel up to Bristol together as we are both based in Exeter, it was nice to know someone by the time I got there :)

Whilst waiting for the show to start I finally got to meet Laura, who was wearing the most amazing pair of Motel jeans and Kelly, my H&M flatform twin :) I also spent a lot of time chatting to Katie and her friend Grace (I hope that is right!)We were all treated to yummy french fancies and pink fizz (or water for those of us driving!)

The show itself was fab, give me affordable high street fashions over unattainable designer pieces any day!

Marks & Spencers kicked things off with gorgeous sugar sweet pastels and prints.

I am slightly obsessed with this gorgeous printed dress from BHS of all places!

Male models in their underwear, it would have been rude to not include a picture!

I need the coral dress with scalloped detailing on the left, perfect!

Gorgeous 20's styling from Marks & Spencers

And a very patriotic finale!

Myself, Milly, Katie & Grace after the show.

All attendees left with a lovely goody bag and a discount booklet, very generous!

I had a lovely day and I am glad I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and attended. I met some fab bloggers and look forward to hopefully more meet ups and events in the future!

A final big thank you to Gina and Amy for organising everything and to The Mall, Cribbs Causeway for hosting an event in the South-West!
