Lady Bug Says ... A Little Bit Of Very

I was recently contacted by the PR people at Very about taking part in a blogger Google+ hangout with Fearne Cotton, but unfortunately as I was working I was unable to take part but they have kindly sent me some information about the hangout and Fearne's new range.

Lady Bug Says ... Does My Bum Look Big In This?!

I am sure every woman, at one point in her life has asked or at the very least thought, 'does my bum look big in this?'! I know I personally have on many an occasion, and know the answer is usually yes (my Mum says I have child bearing hips and a bum to match!). My waist and hips are a little out of proportion, but certainly not verging on Kardashian standards! 

I can't say I have ever asked the Mr the question though, as his answer would be 'of course not' regardless of what I was wearing. I don't think this is out of fear of what my response would be, he knows that I quite like my pear shape, but more because he isn't really bothered if my bum looks big or not!

Lady Bug Says ... Pizza Me Up!

Evening lovelies!

I was recently contacted asking if I would like to try the new Mexicano pizzas from Domino's Pizza. Now let me tell you I love food, be it cooking it, eating it or buying it, so I happily took them up on their offer!

I invited a few friends over and we ordered the Chicken Mexicano pizza, plus a few extras including mozzarella sticks and gourmet garlic bread, yum!

Now I am not a big spicy food lover but this was delicious, whoever thought of putting sour cream on pizza deserves be up there with the person who thought of putting a hash brown in a burger! The pizza had plenty of toppings, loads of cheese and the all important garlic herb dip for the crusts :)

I will definitely be making sure I get to eat this again before it disappears from their menu (it's a limited edition guest pizza so I don't think it will be around for long)

Lady Bug Says ... Deal Collector

I am a big fan deal/bulk buy/discount websites, who doesn't love to get a bit of a bargain! 

I was recently contacted by www.dealcollector.co.uk to let me know about their new website which allows you to search all the offers available in your area from websites such as Groupon, Keynoir and Wowcher all in one place. I am loving the idea of not having to search through multiple websites to find deals in everywhere from Cambridge to Belfast! I also like the idea of being able to search in a city where you are going away on holiday to, to book maybe a spa treat or a nice meal whilst you are away.

 I have bought a whole range of deals, everything from lunch at a fancy (usually couldn't afford to eat there!' restaurant to hair salon deals and think they are a really good way to treat yourself to something you maybe wouldn't normally buy. My sister even recently bought a No!No! for 60% off the retail price, so there really are some good deals to be had.

The only downside I have found with the website is that it currently doesn't include the city I live in, but maybe that will change in time. In the meantime I am quite content browsing through the national and fairly local deals to me :)

Lady Bug Says ... A Few Money Tips

Evening lovelies!

Anyone else finding the beginning of the year a bit of a come down after all the manic hype surrounding December/Christmas/New Year? In our house all the major 'milestones' like birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, Valentines Day etc. fall between the months of October and February. It can be abit of a strain but at least it gives our savings plenty of time to recover! I would hate for October to come around again and to be worrying about not having enough money to pay for everything!

I wouldn't consider myself exceptionally 'frugal' or 'thrifty' especially not compared to the lovely Vintage Vixen or A Thrifty Mrs but I do believe in not spending more than is necessary and not getting into debt just to 'buy' something! There are a few simple things I do to help save the pennies including:

Putting back some money for a rainy day

For the last few years I have strictly put £10 a week from my wages into a separate bank account. A bank account that I do not have a card or pin number for, so it is very hard to get money out of there unnecessarily! It comes out of my bank account the same day as my wages go in, so I don't even notice that it has gone. I do notice though that when it is time to tax my car, pay an unexpected bill or start buying Christmas presents I am not quite so worried as I know I have a little pot of money stashed away for such an eventuality.

Using restaurant vouchers

If you want to go out to eat and a restaurant you like has an offer/voucher deal on then why would you want to pay more than you need to for your meal?! I think I can probably count the amount of times I ate out without a voucher in the last year on one hand! It always seems to taste better when you know that it probably cost you half of what the lady at the next table eating the same dinner will pay for it!

Not going food shopping without a list

I am pretty damn forgetful and indecisive! So going food shopping without a list is largely going to result in purchases that you cannot rustle up 1 decent meal from, never mind a weeks worth of dinners! Cue several more equally disastrous and expensive trips to the shops throughout the rest of the week. Now I sit down and work out a weeks meal plan, make a list, buy it and know I will have food for the week and not spend an age deciding what to have for dinner each night or have a cupboard full of food I will never end up eating!

Lady Bug Says ... Summer Wish List!

Evening Ladies!

I have been a little bit slack on the blogging front so far this year, but I am hoping to put a stop to that! I have a massive list of posts to do and lots of DIY's, yummy baking recipes and hopefully more day to day things to share with you all!

So I should be around a lot more, and please let me know if there is anything you would like to see more of on my blog! I'd love to know what kind of posts you most like to read :)

Now lets get the new motivated blogging ball rolling! I haven't done one of these wish list type posts for a while, but the sunny weather and the looming 'wedding season' (not my own!) has got me longing for pretty dresses and more!

I seem to largely be craving more formal style floral dresses and lots of pale rust/nude colours! But I like to think that I am lusting after items that can we worn throughout other seasons too, I do have some practicality about me(despite what the Mr might think!) I think I might need to whack out the credit card if I want everything though! :S
