Lady Bug Says ... Pedal It Pink With Breast Cancer Campaign!

Evening Ladies!

Today I want to take a little time to tell you a little bit about the charity Breast Cancer Campaign and some of the amazing fundraising events they hold.

Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in the UK, accounting for nearly one in three of all female cancers. Over 45,500 women are diagnosed each year(125 women a day!) and unfortunately around a quarter of these cases will be fatal.

Breast Cancer Campaign aims to beat breast cancer by funding innovative world-class research to understand how breast cancer develops, leading to improved diagnosis, treatment, prevention and cure

I am taking part in the Pedal It Pink Half Marathon in Exeter in September and hoping to raise alot of money for an amazing cause as well as challenging myself(I am not much of an athlete!)

Pedal it Pink, the women-only cycle challenge for Breast Cancer Campaign, will be visiting Exeter Quay on 26 September and Nottingham’s National Water Sports Centre on 17 October as well as River Lee Country Park in Essex in March 2011, Sefton Park in Liverpool in April 2011 and Holyrood Park in Edinburgh in May 2011.

By entering Pedal it Pink, which is supported by Olympic cycling champion Victoria Pendleton, not only will you be raising money for a great cause, but you’ll you be setting yourself a new fitness and weight loss goal.

If you would like to get involved in Pedal it Pink you can opt for the full marathon, half marathon distance or the family 5K lap (which is also open to the men and children in your life). All routes are traffic-free, so it’s safe and suitable for all existing and aspiring cyclists.

To join the pink revolution, visit http://www.breastcancercampaign.org/, email pedalitpink@breastcancercampaign.org or call 020 7749 3700.

Breast Cancer Campaign hold loads of events throughout the year ranging from cycle rides, triathlons and marathons to pink ribbon balls, friendship walks and wear it pink days! So there really is an event for everyone!

Thank you all for taking the time to read about what I am sure you will agree is a worthy cause!
