Cooking always brings a smile to my face. Combining ingredients, putting time and effort into something, and getting yummy things in return! Last night I had the urge to bake, and had a few things in the cupboard that needed using up. Plus the biscuit tin was looking rather empty!
I made a load of chocolate chip(white and milk) & raisin cookies
And some lemon muffins :) I love cakes that you can get away with eating for breakfast!
Plus they look all the yummier in my 'naughty but nice' tins, a great Christmas present from my step brother and sisters.
Today I had to dress a little smarter than usual for work, not sure why but when people say smart I automatically think of black.
I got this dress a few weeks ago in the Primark sale, it is a really versatile dress that can be smartened up with heels, worn in the summer with bare legs and flip flops, or like today worn with my trusty riding boots.
Today I wore
Black and white dress - Primark £5, Black leggings - H&M £5, Black boyfriend cardigan - Primark £10, Grey leg warmers - Primark £3, Black leather riding boots - New Look £35, Black and gold skinny belt - Primark £2, Gold vintage necklace - Ebay £15
Outfit Total - £75
I found this necklace whilst browsing on Ebay a few months ago and it immediately caught my eye.
Whether it is truly vintage or not I don't really mind to be honest, I just love the mix of chunky gold beads and dainty little details like the pearl centres of the flowers.
Is the kind of piece that makes a simple jeans, tshirt and heels outfit that bit more special :)
Whats your favourite Ebay find?
Lovely necklace - I love stumbling across things like that!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite finds include the leopard print faux fur jacket I just got, a pair of heeled black leather brogues and my SingStar microphones! :)
LOVE that dress, and do you have a recipe for the lemon muffins? My Mum would love them!

That's such a pretty necklace, you could even wear it as a headband if you wanted?
ReplyDeleteMy best ebay find has to be my Kenneth Jay Lane bracelet I got for a bargain, along with all the buttons, beads and craft finds.
Your baking looks yum! those cookies would be gone in 5 seconds in my house.
Finally back after internet issues!
ReplyDeleteRecipe for lemon muffins is:
350g plain flour
1tbsp baking powder
115g caster sugar
55g butter
1 large egg
225ml milk
finely grated rind and juice of 2 lemons
1- preheat oven to 190 degrees
2- sift flour, baking powder and sugar into bowl
3- melt the butter in a seperate bowl in microwave, once melted beat in egg, milk, lemon rind and juice
4- pour wet mix into dry mix bowl and stir well to form soft sticky dough
5- spoon into muffin cases and bake for 20-25 mins or until risen, golden brown and firm.
6- cool on wire rack
I topped mine with lemon icing, made by mixing icing sugar and lemon juice until it is thick and slightly runny.
Have never thought of wearing the necklace as a headband, will have to give that a go!
